Through multiple prototype iterations, a notable reduction in weight was achieved by eliminating various components, including the carrying handle, tripod mount lug, and the 30-round magazine attachment device. Furthermore, the MK46 Mod.0 preserves compatibility with an array of stocks from the M249, such as the telescopic paramodel stock, slide stock, and fixed polymer stock, offering versatility and adaptability.
 
This extraordinary model boasts a metal construction, delivering an impressive total weight of approximately 6.3 kg. What truly sets it apart is the unprecedentedly strong recoil generated upon firing, immersing the operator in the sensation of genuine firearm use.
